IDISIL for Chromatography

IDISIL® improves chromatography selectivity

To allow for efficient separation in chromatography applications, the primary particles of the stationary phase should be discrete and as monodisperse as possible.  IDISIL® combines monodispersity, a very narrow particle size distribution and customized surface functionalization of particles.

Chromatography is a separation technology in analytical or preparative chemistry.  Separation efficiency is highly dependent on the nature of the stationary phase particles. IDISIL® particles can help you to achieve better packed columns owning to their narrow particle size distribution (PSD). A high quality packing can result in remarkable separation efficiency.

To allow for very narrow peaks the primary particles of the stationary phase should be discrete and as monodisperse as possible. An even packing of the column with discrete monodisperse particles then leads to equally sized pores. Additionally, we can modify the IDISIL® surface to achieve the desired polarity or control the porosity of the particles to fit different types of chromatography applications.

Our IDISIL® grades offer the following advantages for Chromatography:

  • Monodispersity and uniformity of particle sizes

  • Low metal impurities

  • Customized functionlization possible

  • Particle sizes ranging from few nm to µm

  • Very narrow particle size distribution, no fines or large particles
